I am writing this letter of reference as a strong endorsement of Tom Halapatz’s High Trust Selling System. I highly recommend this training to new advisors to give them a proper framework to create a Trusted Counsel Relationship with clients. I would also recommend it to seasoned advisors, to unlearn “bad habits” related to the traditional financial planning selling model. I speak from experience in learning Tom’s system eight years ago and continue to reference it to this day. I’ll share a bit of my own experience with you… Most advisors do not have the depth of moat that I’ve built around my clients, for a long lasting and trusting relationship. Perhaps, they don’t know how to. For example, I brought in approximately 14 million in investible assets last year (my first year selling with Credential); my revenue/trailer is generally higher than the average peer advisor as I use On Point. As you’re aware, this product is not often used because it’s not as easy to “sell” compared to a regular investment account where the fees are embedded. I also gather 100% of all investible assets of each client virtually 100% of the time. This is absolutely attributed to the sales process I learned from Tom. This translates to about 75 to 80% of the assets I consolidate are from outside financial institutions. I’ve been bringing in approximately $500,000 per week since January 1, and anticipate a strong year, with the same ratio of assets being consolidated from other financial institutions. On top of this, I sell insurance to every client as long as they qualify. My average premium per year per client household is approximately $8000/year. Dear Tom, I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in being an effective and top performing Sales Person. I learned alot from you and wanted to share my success stories. One of the main points you shared was how to talk to people in the right way to obtain appointments. Since the day I joined Investors Group I talked to a lot of people, but with little success. Now…I’ve been with IG for 27 years and over the course of my career I have participated in numerous seminars put on by outside sources ( Dale Carnegie, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, etc.). I wanted to offer a deep heartfelt thank you for what you have brought to my practice. In the past I’ve struggled to differentiate myself from other advisors in our industry and deep down I didn’t really believe that I was different. However, after attending your training I know I’m different and can communicate it with confidence when talking to clients and prospects. The conversations I’m having are more meaningful and I feel a deeper connection. I don’t worry anymore that people will say no because it’s ok to say no…it just doesn’t happen all that often anymore. Since your training in the fall of 2014 my business has taken an evolutionary leap, I’m attracting better qualified prospects and the deals are getting larger and larger. To give you an idea, about two weeks after the training I was referred to a prospect. I would normally contact them to setup an appointment but thought I would try it Tom’s way. I ended up doing my first meeting over the phone which setup an in person meeting to present an initial plan. When I presented the plan to the prospect they signed the transfers on the spot moving over $250,000 in assets. To be honest I was a little shocked and hopefully I didn’t show it, but when I asked the client what got her attention she said, “you really listened to me and you did something in two weeks that I’ve been trying to get my current advisor to do over the last two years”. Although her listening compliment was accurate, I felt it was more than listening; it was how I engaged her using Tom’s Emotivational Fact Find. I also would like to stress how different this training is compared to anything I have had when it comes to application. We have a great training program at Investors Group, great mentorship and a sound sales process, yet there was something in my approach that wasn’t working. I will call it Therapeutic Selling, because it so comforting to have a sales process that I can rely on that really works! I recently had the opportunity to participate in the Tom Halapatz International High Trust Relationship Academy for Financial Advisors. This wasn’t the first sales training program I’ve taken part in over my 15 year financial services career, but was the one with most impact. Tom’s program takes the “selling“ out of the way and allows for a genuine open and honest conversation to take place with a client or prospect. Without getting into details of the process, I find my client meetings now consist of questions and answers that bring out real emotion of situations a client may face in their lifetime. It allows me to systematically take them to a place or time where they could feel the consequences of action or inaction, without the hard sell. The Selling System Tom teaches is a truly remarkable client centred interview, that makes selling financial service products “easy”, because I don’t have to do the selling, the client sells themselves. Most trainers will tell you what to do, but in front of a client, their approach puts an advisor in a position to fail. Tom’s approach is not the traditional motivational pump and dump and product centred type training commonly delivered in the industry, it is unique, refreshing, practical, and it works. The results of this program, when properly used, are nothing short of astonishing. In the last 2 months I’ve had the best results of my career, assisting 2 physicians, 4 business owners and 9 individuals and families; the combined results will compensate me almost $100,000 dollars.
